Machines are received from customer and begin their transformation through the process of breaking down and inspecting component assemblies.

Machine size and additional options to be placed upon unit determine price of the retrofit. In addition, customer is notified prior to retrofit continuation of damaged components that directly effect the performance for approval and purchase that are not associated with the basic package. This can only be determined through the breakdown and inspection process.

The DTD Model Drill Head (pictured here) is the current model supported by HMT. If the older DTC Model (two front plate shifters and one rear plate shifter) is present upon the machine to be retrofit, it can be modified to the current DTD Model for an additional expense. Parts availability for DTC Model Drill Heads are no longer supported.

The DTD Model Drill Head is disassembled and modified with new support bearing features within the drill head casting for the new style spindle feed pinion shaft and the chain case casting for the spindle drive sprocket adding greater support and smooth operation reducing friction and wear.

Inspection continues of the drill head internal components, spindle assembly, and power feed gearbox assemblies for abnormal wear identifying needed replacement items.
