    Drill Spindle Cycle Operation Improved
    The new 3-IN-1 control features automated functions within the drill cycle (Z-Axis) activation. This power feed system is now equiped with three Proximity Sensor switches, Coolant OFF/ON Switch and Solenoid, and a Potentiometer Feed Dial enabling the operator more capability and simplicity when it comes to drilling holes through steel structures. It functions as follows:

    1. From Home sensor the cycle is started and will rapid travel til the second (or middle) sensor is activated.

    2. Upon second sensor activation the feed rate is slowed to a rate determined by the Potentiometer setting and if selected ON, the coolant solenoid is opened allowing flow through the tool.

    3. Once the hole is drilled through and the third (or bottom) sensor is activated, coolant is automatically shut off, preserving coolant waste, and the spindle is returned home at rapid traverse.

    This setup is quickly achieved by simply adjusting the Proximity Sensors and the Trip Dog.

Mounted upon the Drill Head these battery operated Lasers give the operater a faster means to locate and drill holes with outstanding accuracy. In addition, production rates are increased giving a greater output of structural members along with quality workmanship capability.

    HMT Consolidates OKC with Seminole
    Hearn Machine Tool, Inc. has recently combined the Oklahoma City facility with Seminole. This consolidation takes place in an effort to better serve our customers locally and nationwide. Located two miles south of Seminole Downtown, HMT continues to strive ahead into the future with advanced machining capabilities and custom built Drilling Machines.

    Many customers from the field have indicated the need to increase the capability of the SDT7 Portable Machine with regard to Milling and Tapping applications. HMT is answering that need with the New standard 3-IN-1 Manual Control feature directly addressing Drilling, Milling, and Tapping capability in one complete control package. In addition, the operator Hand Held Pendant will allow greater control fuctionality of the Spindle motion characteristics during operations enhancing setup in positioning (Jogging) and cycle aborting. With these new features implied, Safety is greatly enhanced as well.
